What's the best flooring for high-traffic areas?

Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) and porcelain tile are the most durable for high-traffic areas. LVP ($4–$8/sq ft installed) is softer underfoot, waterproof, and scratch-resistant — great for families with kids and pets. Porcelain tile ($6–$12/sq ft) is harder and handles moisture better, ideal for entryways and kitchens. Solid hardwood works well but shows wear sooner in heavy-traffic zones.

Do I need to remove existing flooring first?

It depends on the material. LVP and laminate can go over existing hard surfaces if they're level. Carpet almost always needs removal ($1–$2/sq ft). If the subfloor is uneven (more than 3/16 inch variation over 10 feet) or damaged, that needs repair before new flooring goes down. We assess subfloor condition during the free estimate.

How long does flooring installation take in the Lehigh Valley?
